WORK IN CONFINED SPACES

The RIIOHS202A Enter and work in confined spaces course is designed for the resources and infrastructure industry eg; mining and civil construction and specifies the competency required to work in a confined space (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work or inspections. It includes the minimum criteria for competency assessment.

This one day course includes entry and exit procedures, assessment of associated risks and how to operate safely in a confined space.  It also combines the unit of competency MSAPMOHS217A Gas test atmospheres to provide a complete work task.

•    Less than 2 business days notice prior to the course: 50% of the course fee will be charged.

ENTER A CONFINED SPACE

The MSAPMPER205B Enter confined space unit of competency applies to persons who are required to enter confined space, for maintenance purposes, servicing or simply inspection. It is required by all persons who are required to enter a confined space, as defined by the standard AS2865/2009, or its authorised update or replacement. It is a requirement that all standby persons will also be competent to perform confined space duties.

The course has the prerequisite of MSAPMPER200B Work in accordance with an issued permit.

This unit includes:
• preparing to enter the confined space
• checking the preparations against the permit conditions
• entering the confined space.

 

The one day course consists of MSAPMPER205B Enter confined space, MSAPMPER200B Work in accordance with issued permit and MSAPMOHS217A Gas test atmospheres to provide a complete work task.
