Beware of Registered Training Organisations offering a 4 hour
courses with the following statements:
"On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a certificate in partial completion of MNMG237A Working Safely at Heights."
OR
"On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a certificate in partial completion of BCCCM2009B Work in confined spaces."
Please note: You cannot partially complete a Unit Of Competency as this does not meet the requirements of the Competency Standards within the Training Package as required by the Australian Quality Training Framework and the Australian Qualifications Framework.
The Major Mining companies would not accept this so called certificate in partial completion, as you have not achieved competency.
Note: The unit of competency BCCCM2009B Work in confined spaces has the prerequisite of: BCCCM1001C Follow OH&S policies and procedures
A Unit of Competency requires you to be assessed against each of the elements, performance criteria, achieve the required skills and knowledge for the unit and meet all critical aspects of evidence required to demonstrate competency in the unit. Once you have achieved competency in the unit you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment which is recognised within the Australian Qualification Framework.
